George and I grew up in the College Hill neighborhood. I remember riding the school bus with him and I think we were members of the same football team-the school’s first-at Schwab Junior High School. He was always friendly and kind to me and I remember him being very engaged in our school activities This is very sad news. It was also great to know that George and Doug Loveless were still close. I remember the two of them being friends throughout our grade school, junior high school and high school days.. I think I got off of the school bus one stop before George and Doug on our trips back to Collegd Hill. Since moving to Mercer Island, Washington I have met another Woodward graduate who was a high school friend of David Wheeler, George’s brother.
